- Both you and your partner must be at least 18 years old.

- For common-law partnerships, a minimum of 12 months of continuous cohabitation without extended separation is necessary.
- Conjugal partnerships may be considered under specific circumstances, such as legal restrictions or persecution.

As a Canadian resident or citizen, you have the opportunity to sponsor your dependent children to live with you in Canada. To qualify as a dependent family member, children must meet specific criteria.
- Children must be under 22 years old and unmarried to qualify.
- Exceptions apply for children over 22 who can't financially support themselves or relied on parental support before turning 22.
- Dependent children with their own children can also be sponsored.
- Continuous eligibility required, with age as the only exception.

However, you cannot sponsor these relatives if:
- No one knows the whereabouts of their parents.
- Their parents have abandoned them.

- Their parents are in jail or otherwise detained.

Sponsorship for Parents and Grandparents
You have the opportunity to sponsor your parents and grandparents to immigrate to Canada, provided they are related to you by blood or adoption. Additionally, in cases of divorce or separation, you can sponsor the spouses or common-law partners of your parents and grandparents.
To sponsor your parents or grandparents, you must demonstrate that you meet the minimum income requirements for the past three years. These requirements can be met either individually or by including your spouse or common-law partner.
