Upon completing their studies, students may be eligible to apply for a post-graduation work permit, allowing them to work in Canada for a specified period and gain further professional experience.
How to Apply for a Student Visa
- Check Eligibility
- Ensure you meet all the eligibility criteria for the SDS program.
- Apply to a DLI
- Apply and obtain acceptance from a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.
- Gather Documents
- Collect all necessary documents, including your acceptance letter, proof of tuition payment, GIC certificate, language test results, and medical examination results.
- Complete Application Forms
- Fill out the appropriate application forms for a Canadian study permit, ensuring to indicate that you are applying under the SDS program.
- Submit Application
- Submit your completed application along with all required documents to the nearest Canadian visa application center (VAC) or online through the IRCC website.
- Pay Fees
- Pay the required application processing fee and the biometrics fee, if applicable.

You need to have a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of CAD $20,635 from a participating financial institution.
